TREND ALERT: A Spectrum of Cinderella Blues Were Having A Major Moment on the Tony's Red Carpet

As a visual person, I have always been a person that communicates through color, especially when it comes to beauty and fashion looks. Color trends are so fascinating to me, and they are one of the first that I notice when breaking down event trends.

The 2019 Tony Awards took place earlier this evening, featuring a rainbow rose red carpet, and filled with stars looking their best for the notable event. One of the biggest fashion trends of the night was different shades of blue. There were so many incredible looks on the red carpet channeling fashion interpretations of a modern-day Cinderella. Other than blacks and charcoals, different shades of blue were the most featured colors in the red carpet looks, followed by green, then pinks and reds. Attendees wore all different shades of blue, from pastels, to rich navy tones; in a number of finishes and fabrics, like velvet, satin, and tulle.

Earlier this year, I predicted that turquoise blues would be a major color of 2019 in all different realms of fashion, as it was one of the most featured colors on the runway. Blue is such a fun color to play around with in styling looks, because it is so universal. You can incorporate the color in the most classic, minimalist looks, or use it in more expressive, and unique style looks.
