The Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse is Going to Be Opened Up to the Public on Airbnb
The pink doors to Barbie’s Malibu Dream House are being opened up to the public, for only $60 a night. Airbnb has just recently announced that the Barbie Dream House will be added to the list of destination locations that their guests could be able to stay at.
Starting on October 23rd at 11am PDT, one guest will be able to book a two-night stay at the Barbie Dream House for themselves and three friends. The opportunity to book a stay at the Barbie Dream House will be a one-time opportunity, that only one party will get the chance to experience.
Airbnb is creating this limited-time opportunity as a way to celebrate Barbie’s 60th anniversary. The lucky guests of the Dream House will not only get to stay in Barbie’s incredible oceanside mansion, but they will also get the chance to participate in several very special opportunities. The group who stays at the Dream House will get the opportunity to take fencing lessons with world-class fencing champion, Ibtihaj Muhammad; get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Columbia Memorial Space center with aerospace engineer and pilot, Jill Meyers; get hair makeovers with world-famous celebrity hairstylist, and founder of OUAI and Mane Addicts, Jen Atkin; and get a cooking lesson with a highly-respected chef, Gina Clarke-Helm.
The idea behind the opportunity is to celebrate Barbie, and Barbie’s lasting legacy of setting an example for young boys and girls that they can be anything that they want to be. As such, Airbnb announced that they are going to be making a donation to The Barbie Dream Gap Project on GoFundMe; which is an initiative that encourages workplace equality, and young women in chasing their dreams.
