Candy Blueberry: Blue Glitter Smokey Eye and Graphic Eyeliner Look with Mauve Lip

I’m not entirely sure what happened this day, but I was feeling lots and lots of blue. One of my all-time favorite makeup looks to do is a look in which I can incorporate blue into the eyes, especially if there is glitter involved. I used to do blue glitter looks all of the time when I first started playing around with makeup. It has been a while since I’ve done a blue look, so here is a fun one that I did, with a graphic blue and purple liner, and some purple shading under the eyes.

I started the look by priming the eyes with an eye base. I usually start with the eyes when I’m using lots of color, because it is easier to clean up in case there is fallout. I then started to build up the crease with a matte turquoise shade, from the Huda Beauty Sapphire Obsessions Palette. I then deepened the crease with a darker matte purple shade. Going back into the Huda Beauty Sapphire Obsessions Palette, I packed the sky blue metallic shade onto the lid space. To intensify the glitter finish on the lids, I added the Blitz Amethyst shade from the Pat McGrath Mothership III palette on top of the lids, with my ring finger. For the brow highlight, I picked up Skinshow Fever from the Pat McGrath palette, and applied it along the brow line, with a small detail brush.

After I got the main part of the eye look finished, I decided to move on to the rest of the face. I started by priming the skin with the Tarte Base Tape primer, and then buffed the Fenty Pro Filt’r Foundation into the skin. After I got the base down, I concealed under the eyes, and then set it by packing on a translucent setting powder, with a makeup sponge.

After I got the face base finished, I went back to finish the eye look. I started on the lower lash line, by dipping into the soft petal pink matte shade from the Huda Beauty Amethyst Obsessions Palette, and blending that along the lower lash line. Then, I built up that lower lash line by dipping back into the matte purple shadow that I used in the crease, and then lined the lower lash line with a dark purple eyeshadow. To highlight the inner corner of the eye, I blended the pinky matte shadow from the Amethyst Obsessions Palette, onto the inner third of the lower lash line, and then highlighted the inner corner with the light pink metal shimmer, from that same palette.

For the graphic eyeliner look, I started by doing a winged liner with a purple liquid lipstick, and then outlined that liner with a pastel teal liquid lipstick on a small liner brush. I then applied some eyeliner to the waterline of the eyes. I used a brown liner on the lower waterline, and a black on the top. There was some shadow on my top lashes, so I corrected the color by painting some of the lashes with a black liquid eyeliner. The false lashes that I used were the Boudoir Lashes from House of Lashes. I finished the eyes with the Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced.

I contoured the face by dipping into Shadowplay and Sombre from the Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette. For blush, I applied a soft peach-toned matte shade to the apples of the cheeks, just above the contour. For highlighter, I used Cotton Candy Cream from Kylie Cosmetics. I filled in the eyebrows with the Benefit Brow Zings kit, and an angled brow brush.

I finished the look by lining the lips with Undercover from Buxom, and then applying the Kylie Cosmetics Posie K Liquid Lipstick over the top.
